SYNOPSIS:

Jack Turner comes back to Culpepper to give a series of lectures for his old history professor. Within days, he starts having bizarre experiences at night. Like he’s traveling back in time, experiencing the epic events in his lectures firsthand. He has no control over these experiences and can’t make them stop.

Joe Boyd thought he’d left big city crime back in Pittsburgh when he took a detective job in Culpepper, Georgia, a sleepy southern college town. His peaceful life ends when two students turn up dead in two weeks. The coroner is saying natural causes, but something does not add up.

Rachel Cook, a teaching assistant at Culpepper, can’t believe Jack is back in her life again. She’s had a crush on him since she was fourteen, but Jack never knew. He instantly seems attracted to her, but she can tell…something is deeply troubling him.
Watching all this from a distance is Nigel Avery. He’s certain this experiment’s about to unravel. It’ll be his job to tie up all the loose ends when it does.

Bestselling author Dan Walsh is known for page-turning story lines. Fans of his novels The Discovery and What Follows After will especially love…When Night Comes.

"Dan Walsh surprises with his new novel, When Night Comes. This engrossing mystery/thriller takes place in the present day, but with a twist. The main character finds himself going back in time. When he does, as usual, Walsh's historical fiction is spot on. This break from his normal superb Christian fiction proves Walsh is more than one-dimensional."
- John M. Wills, New York Journal of Books -

My thoughts:

Fans of the author will understand my enthusiasm for this latest novel of Dan Walsh and be ready for quite a surprise as he explains this is a departure from his usual trend.
We all come to a crossroad in our life and for Dan, it was the right moment to pen something with a bit more suspense and adventure. Just released today, 1 November 2014, you will not want to miss it!

It goes without saying however than in true Dan Walsh's fashion, WHEN NIGHT COMES remains a family read which teens and the older generation (that would be us Folks!) will enjoy immensely with no sex scenes, no strong language, just the perfect mix of good old fashioned values and of course the good guys versus bad guys scenario!

A riveting story, Dan's latest plot involves action and suspense on just about every page but also some well learned life lessons about drugs and guns involvement. Then again we are talking about an accomplished Christian writer who never fails to provide readers with a great tale and a satisfying conclusion.

No need to add anything else unless I wish to reveal spoilers and that would be unfair!
So prepare yourself to enjoy a bit of mystery, a lot of adventure and even a touch of romance in this 5 stars novel (which ranked # 13 on Amazon's Christian fiction suspense category already in October!)

A note to Dan: Tasteful entertainment, great plot and solid characters which makes me ask immediately: 'When may we expect the next one?'

From Dan Walsh's website:

"My name is Dan Walsh, and I write character-driven novels, both contemporary and historical. Several of my books are love stories and family-life dramas, often compared by reviewers to the works of Nicholas Sparks. But I also love to write suspense novels. Even when writing inspirational books, I want to keep the pages turning.  My goal, whether writing contemporary or historical, inspirational or suspense, is for my readers to feel satisfied and thoroughly entertained. In short, to feel a strong inner compulsion to go right out and pick up another one of my books. "
